Adult Surf Lessons Donegal
It's never too late to catch your first wave
Beginner-friendly lessons for adults
You've always wanted to try it. So try it.
There's no particular age when you're supposed to learn how to surf.
If you've never done it before, you've never done it before.
That's it.
Maybe you've watched surfers while walking along the beach. Maybe you've been on holiday somewhere and thought you'd give it a go but never actually got around to it.
If you're in Donegal, now might be the time.
Starting as an adult
Your first lesson doesn't need to be complicated.
You'll learn how to use the board, how to paddle and how to catch a wave. From there, you'll work towards standing and riding.
You'll probably fall off.
Everyone does.
The trick is to get back on and try again.
Once you manage your first proper ride, you'll understand why people spend so much time in the water.
You don't need to be super fit
Surfing is physical, but you don't need to arrive in peak condition.
You're learning a new skill.
Your balance will improve. You'll get better at paddling. You'll start to understand where you need to be when a wave comes through.
It all comes with time in the water.
If you've got some surfing experience already, that's useful too. You can build on what you know rather than starting from the beginning.
A different way to spend a day in Donegal
If you're visiting Donegal, there are plenty of places to drive to and things to see.
But spending a few hours in the water gives you a completely different view of the place.
You're out on the Atlantic rather than looking at it from the road.
People travel to Inishowen from around Donegal, Malin Head, the Fanad Peninsula and the wider North West. We're also an option for people travelling from Derry who are looking for surf lessons nearby.
So bring the towel, leave a bit of space in the day's plans and get in the water.
Coming with friends?
You don't have to learn on your own.
Our group surf lessons are suitable for friends and other groups who want to give surfing a go together.
If you'd rather have more attention on your own technique, you can look at our private and one-to-one surf lessons instead.
Surfing during your holidays
If you're in Donegal for the summer, a surf lesson is an easy activity to fit into a trip.
It works for a couple, a group of friends, or someone travelling alone.
And you don't need to buy all the equipment before you've even decided whether you like surfing.
Have the lesson first.
Then worry about becoming obsessed with surfboards later.
Give it a go
You can spend another year saying you'll try surfing someday.
Or you can get in the water this time.
