Kids and Teen Surf Lessons
Kids take to surfing faster than most adults, mostly because they haven't learned to worry about looking silly. We run kids surf lessons in Ireland's northwest for children who've never seen a board and for older ones ready to push on. Small groups, patient instructors, lots of falling in. That last part is the fun.
Surf lessons for ages 6 to 12
Younger children get shorter explanations and more time in the water. We keep the sessions playful, with games on the beach, and build up to standing on a wave. Children's surf lessons in Ireland work best when a child feels safe first and ambitious second, so we take our time with that.
Surf lessons age 8 plus
From 8 upwards, kids can handle a bit more technique: paddling properly, choosing a wave, steering once they're up. If your child's already tried surfing once, tell us. It changes what we do with them.
Teen surf lessons
Teenagers don't want a kids' lesson, so we don't give them one. Teen surf lessons in Ireland with us are pitched at older learners who want real progress, and they can stay in the same group as friends if they book together. For longer stints, look at our summer surf camp, which includes a camp for teenagers in Donegal.
Group kids surf lessons and birthdays
A group kids surf lesson in Ireland is one of the easier birthday ideas to say yes to, since everyone's tired and happy by the end. Book a kids surf birthday party in Donegal for a group of friends and we'll plan the session around them. The same applies if you're after a surf birthday experience for an adult. See group surf lessons for how bigger bookings work.
Learning as a family
Want to surf alongside your children? Our kids and family surf lessons in Inishowen cover that. Looking for a present? A surf lesson gift voucher is an easy one to give, especially for kids who'd rather have an experience than another toy.
Schools and clubs can book through our school surf trips page. Otherwise, book a lesson or read more on all our surf lessons.
